MCC Hosts Children’s Literature Festival


A one-day conference for scholars, writers, readers, librarians, teachers and students of children’s literature will be held 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19 at MCC's Brighton Campus.

Off  to See the Wizard: Quests for Memory and Culture features Roni Natov, a children’s literature scholar from Brooklyn College and local author Linda Sue Park, recipient of the Newbery Medal.

Other featured speakers include: Russell A. Peck, University of Rochester professor of rhetoric and English literature; Edgar Award-winning author Vivian VandeVelde; and author/illustrator team Mary Jane and Herm Auch. Several concurrent breakout sessions will feature a variety of presenters in the children’s literature field.

The conference will be held in the Warshof Conference Center, Flynn Campus Center.  

A $35 conference fee includes a continental breakfast, breaks and lunch.
