Me Too Campaign, Wednesday 10/21/2015

Me Too is a campaign to decrease the stigma of mental illness and promote awareness of mental health issues and treatment.  It was created by Dr. Ann Griepp, Medical Director at Excellus Behavioral Health.  The concept is to have everyone wear a Me Too button if they have been touched in some way by mental illness.  The more people wearing Me Too buttons shows that mental illness is not uncommon and no different than any other medical condition.  Wearing the buttons takes away the stigma of mental illness and getting treatment.

Health Services, Healthy Topics of Everyday Living will have representatives from Excellus Behavioral Health promoting the ME Too Campaign on Wednesday October 21, 2015 from 12pm-1pm in the Brick Lounge.  Me Too buttons will be available for everyone to wear that has been affected by mental illness, whether it is yourself, a family member, co-worker or friend.  The more staff and students that wear a button, the more we show our acceptance of mental illness the same as any other medical condition.  Prizes and information about mental health and treatment will be available as well as Me Too Buttons.  Please join in and wear a Me Too button in acceptance of mental health and treatment.

Thank you.
