Employee Recognition During Coronavirus Pandemic

Our annual Employee Recognition Ceremony is an exciting event where the college community comes together to celebrate the accomplishments of our employees and to wish our retirees well as they enter a new phase in their life. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the inability to hold large gatherings, the Employee Recognition Ceremony, along with many other events, has had to be reimagined. In an effort to maintain our sense of community during this difficult time and to provide our retirees with the sendoff they deserve, Human Resources has been looking for ways to hold the ceremony virtually. Borrowing from our colleagues in Student Services, we are hoping to provide a virtual Employee Recognition Ceremony that will allow us to come together (in a remote fashion) to celebrate the contributions of our employees and retirees.

Be on the lookout for announcements in the Tribune in the coming weeks to acknowledge those that have celebrated service year anniversaries at the College. We are expanding this recognition to include employees with both five and ten years of service, in addition to the traditional recognition of 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 years of service.

In addition, we will be scheduling a webinar to recognize our award recipients for the following awards: the Chancellor's Awards for Excellence, the Hanson Teaching Excellence Award, the MCC Professional Service Award, the League for Innovation Excellence Award, the Writing Across the Curriculum award, the Outstanding Advisor award, the Distinguished Support Staff Award, and the Innovation of the Year Award. During this webinar, we will also be celebrating our retirees and wishing them well on their new journey into retirement.
