Green Tip - Fill it Forward

Wednesday, April 22, is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. What better way to help celebrate than to reduce use of plastic bottles *and* help provide clean water to those in need.

Cupanion is a company that promotes using refillable drinking bottles. Every Cupanion product ships with a tag that connects to the Fill it ForwardTM app allowing users to give clean water with each refill, track their environmental impact and stay hydrated. You can also buy a Fill it Forward tag to place on your own refillable bottle. Each time you refill, you scan the tag in the app and with every scan Cupanion makes a donation equal to a 'cup of clean water.' Plus when you use the app, you will be able to track your environmental impact and set hydration goals for yourself.

With current physical distancing due to COVID-19, Cupanion has introduced the Fill It Forward Virtual Tag--a free tag that can be scanned at home. They write "We hope it helps spread some positivity and optimism when we all need it the most." The virtual tag will be available until April 13th or until the project is fully funded at https://fillitforward.com/.

To participate, simply download the Fill it Forward app for free and scan the virtual tag every time you refill your reusable at home -- even a glass counts! With each scan in the app, you will help bring clean water to a First Nations Community through our amazing charitable partner Water First!
