March Wellness Council Calendar of Events

If the frightful weather is getting you down, the MCC Wellness Council wants to remind you that spring is officially only two weeks away! Plus, there's a lot going on in March intended to help you, and others, lead a happier, healthier life:

  • Although we'll sadly lose an hour of sleep this month--yes, Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 10--the National Sleep Foundation offers tips and tools to help you prepare. Visit https://www.sleepfoundation.org/press-release/sleep-awareness-week-2019 to learn more about National Sleep Awareness Week, March 3 through 9.
  • Opioid Overdose Prevention Training takes place at the Downtown Campus on March 11 and 18. If you're unable to make it to either of those classes, look for training to be offered at the Brighton Campus before the end of the semester.
  • Adult CPR training is scheduled for March 19 from 5 until 9 p.m. at Brighton. The cost to learn this life-saving skill and be certified by the American Red Cross is only $22!
  • To help reduce stress, consider attending one of two Customer Service in Challenging Situations workshops to be held from 3 to 4 p.m. on the 19th and 25th at Downtown and Brighton, respectively. Contact Pamela Rende in the Student Services Office (ext. 2124) for more details.

Thank you in advance for taking a few minutes to complete the Council's Annual Employee Survey which you received via email from MCC's Institutional Research Dept. on Friday, March 1. The information you provide helps us plan events and trainings that meet your needs.

Our March Wellness Council calendar is attached, and we wish you and yours a wonderful month!
