New Community Relations Campaign Highlights MCC Alumni Making a Difference

This week MCC launches a new, two-part community relations television campaign highlighting the impact of MCC alumni on the Greater Rochester community and celebrating the people of Greater Rochester.

Beginning this month, MCC becomes the official sponsor of 13 WHAM's "Someone You Should Know," a recurring feature hosted by reporter/anchor Doug Emblidge that shares the stories of often unsung Rochesterians who are doing remarkable and often inspiring things. You can look for it Wednesdays on the 5 p.m. newscast (3x/month) and online.

Also, MCC and 13 WHAM/Fox Rochester are producing 30-second vignettes of MCC alumni making a difference in the community. Through the inspiring stories of individuals who got their start at MCC, the College seeks to underscore the impact of the College on the community. Our first feature--Adrian Hale, manager of strategic initiatives for the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce--airs this month The remaining six alumni vignettes will air Jan-June. The College will own the vignettes and can use them in other ways.

If you'd like to recommend an alumnus who is making a difference in Greater Rochester, drop a line to marcom@monroecc.edu .

This campaign replaces our sponsorship of the Scholar-Athlete program on WHEC TV 10.
