Student Karen Gottermeier Honored by Local Business Educators

The Monroe County Business Educators’ Association (MCBEA) held their annual awards event on May 8. The event serves to honor excellence in teaching of business curricula and award student scholarships. Adjunct professor Maureen Duggan, vice president of MCBEA, and Assistant Professor Tony Conte, both from MCC’s Business Administration/Economics Department, attended.

MCC student Karen Gottermeier was awarded a scholarship that she will use while continuing her business studies at SUNY Brockport in the fall. Conte nominated Gottermeier for the award.

MCBEA provides area business educators opportunities to collaborate in order to meet the highest standards and remain on the cutting edge of business innovation. Currently, MCBEA comprises over 60 area business teachers from the secondary (high school) and post secondary (collegiate) levels.
