Merge Due Dates for Summer Courses (and a Sneak Peek at the Fall deadline, too)!

Summer shells are now available and Fall shells will be available sometime in the first week of May. We encourage you to make any merge requests for summer as soon as you are able. Summer merge requests must be made by NOON of the Wednesday prior to the start of Preview Week for the course. Summer merge request deadlines are:

  • Sessions I and III – May 24th by NOON
  • Session II – June 28th by NOON

After fall shells are created, we encourage you to make your merge requests for fall. Fall merge requests must be made by 5 PM on the Wednesday prior to the start of Preview Week for the course. Standard start courses have a merge request deadline of August 16th by 5 PM. Late start courses will follow the same deadline schedule of the Wednesday prior to the start of Preview Week for the course (Preview Week begins one week before the start date for the course).

All merge requests should be made by completing the Merge Request Form. The request form can be found in the VC Faculty Center Brightspace Course. Once in the VC Faculty Center course, enter the Forms for Requests module, and select the top item titled “Merge Request Form.” Please complete all fields as requested in the form, as this is the information SUNY requires to complete the merge!

Please allow time for the merge process to be completed. The transition to Brightspace brought with it a new merge process, and at this time all merges are submitted to and completed by SUNY. Once we submit the request, we are not able to control the timeline for completing the merge, so please complete your merge request with plenty of time to spare! Unfortunately, merge requests completed after the deadline will not be completed by SUNY.
