Pavia Tournament on tap for this weekend

The 14th annual Pete Pavia Memorial Scholarship Men's Basketball Tournament will be held this weekend on Monagan Court at MCC.  The tournament is named in honor of Pete Pavia, a longtime Division I basketball official from Rochester who passed away in 1992 at the age of 54.

Pete was extremely active in charity efforts for Camp Good Days and Special Times.  All proceeds from the tournament are put toward the Pete Pavia Memorial Scholarship Fund, which was established to provide financial assistance for student-athletes to attend MCC.

The action will kick off Friday night.  Gloucester County College will face SUNY Orange at 6 p.m., followed by a contest between SUNY Delhi and MCC at 8 p.m.  Saturday's consolation game will be at 1 p.m. with the championship game scheduled for 3 p.m.
