Professional Development Week: 2023--A New Vision (You might want to strap yourself in for this one)

MCC's 10th annual Professional Development Week is scheduled for June 5th-June 9th, 2023.

You may remember the questionnaire that went out to all Faculty Senate constituents, requesting input about this year's PD week.  Though we are still in the process of digesting your feedback, it's quite clear that many in our community are starved for more connections, a greater sense of community, and non-traditional ways to enrich our professional lives.

To that end, the Faculty Senate Professional Development Committee plans to scale back the current model of our PD week, and place a greater focus on...well, having some fun.  More on this when we return from Winter Break, but you can begin to imagine what an MCC employee talent show might look like.  (That is, imagine if you dare!)

We will still offer some concurrent sessions, and for that we request that you submit a proposal for a presentation, discussion panel, workshop, and general information session, though we will be carefully selecting proposals to address the current needs of faculty and professional staff.

Proposal applications are available on the Senate Brightspace page and will be due by noon on March 27, 2023.

Stay tuned for more updates on Professional Development Week as the committee moves forward with clearer plans.
