Updated Transfer Advising Tools


The Career and Transfer Center is pleased to announce an updated Faculty and Staff webpage to help you advise students transferring to a four- year college!  Located under Faculty Services on our website, it can be accessed directly by visiting: "https://www.monroecc.edu/depts/careercenter/facserv/e-transadv.htm." We encourage you to bookmark this page for quick access when advising students interested in transferring to a four-year college or university.

What’s included?

Course Equivalencies – tools that allow you to look up how a MCC course will transfer to the respective bachelor degree granting institution.

Transfer Advising Guides (TAG) for specific careers – general course guidance for those considering one of the fields outlined in a TAG.  Areas include: agriculture, architecture, chiropractic, dentistry, dietitian/nutritionist, forensic science, law, medicine, occupational therapy, optometry, pharmacy, physical therapy, physician assistant, and veterinarian.  Some outline specific course work for a program at the respective college.  These include: landscape architecture at SUNY ESF, pharmacy at St. John Fisher, pharmacy at UB, and the physician assistant program at RIT.

SUNY General Education Requirements – the SUNY seamless transfer resolution states the SUNY General Education requirements must be completed in the first 60 credits of the AA and AS degrees.

SUNY Transfer Paths – major specific course work identified by SUNY that when completed at the community college promotes a seamless transfer to a bachelor's degree granting college or university within the SUNY system.

SUNY Transfer Tools – a variety of tools to assist students plan their transfer to a SUNY bachelor degree granting institution.

Partnership Colleges & Universities – numerous schools that MCC has partnerships with apart from the 2+2 Dual Admission Program.

Transfer Colleges within 100 miles of MCC – bachelor's degree granting colleges and universities within approximately 100 miles of MCC. Costs, scholarship availability, and other useful information is listed.

College Visitations – dates and times of when four-year college and universities will be on campus to meet with MCC students.

2+2 Dual Admission Programs – information regarding the degree options available to students interested in pursuing one of MCC’s 2+2 Dual Admission Programs.  These are also useful as guides for students to select courses even if they are not in a 2+2 Dual Admission Program at MCC.  Can’t find a degree you are looking for?  Be sure to check under the Liberal Arts degree if one exists for the respective school you are researching.  Click on the “Major Listing Sheet” tab on the audit sheet for additional major options.
