On Campus, Online Orientation and FYE Updates

On Campus Orientation for the January semester had a record setting turnout.  Over 400 students braved the first snowstorm of the year to learn more about MCC and the resources we provide.  We would like to thank the college community for their support in making these events so successful.

On Friday, January 21, 2016, after a year of planning, MCC officially  launched the Online Orientation program for new students.  Students who did not attend an on-campus Orientation program, were emailed an invitation to participate in the Online program.  Our goal is to eventually have all new students participate in Orientation, in an effort to support enrollment and retention.  We offer a special thank you to all of the staff and faculty that helped make this program possible for our students.

Beginning Monday January 25, FYE (First Year Experience) will  host FYE On The Go.  This new initiative will bring FYE to various locations throughout the Brighton Campus.  This is an opportunity for FYE to promote the resources available to support students academically and socially.  In addition, FYE will feature a workshop series throughout the spring semester, to support student success.  We encourage faculty to invite FYE to visit their classes, to facilitate tours and to provide specialized workshops for their students.  Detailed information can be found on the FYE page at "https://www.monroecc.edu/depts/fye"

Please contact Matthew Lawson for Brighton, ATC and PSTC at 292-2495 or Lisa Ekiert for DCC at 262-1663 with any questions regarding Orientation.
