MCC's 50th Celebration Continues...

On the occasion of MCC’s 50th year, let’s take a walk down memory lane…

· Established in 1984, the MCC Sports Hall of Fame in Building 10 includes plaques dedicated to MCC alumni Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy (basketball) and professional golfer Jeff Sluman.

· MCC’s first “brochure” was made available in December of 1961and listed a per semester tuition fee of $150.

· When founded in 1961, MCC was the 20th community college in New York State. By 1964 it was the fourth largest.

· MCC became a member of the League for Innovation in 1986.

· The college mascot name “Tribunes” was selected in 1964 through popular vote by the student body.

Many thanks to MCC's LVG Library Archives for their assistance in this project.
