The Department of Public Safety is pleased to announce that Sgt. Stanley Knutowicz recently attended a two-week Firearms Instructor Course, which is certified by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services. Having successfully achieved all of the course requirements, Sgt. Knutowicz now has the skill and certification necessary to provide initial and continued in-service firearms training for MCC Public Safety’s sworn staff as well as assisting area law enforcement agencies in the training of their staff.
In addition to successfully completing this intense course of instruction, Sgt. Knutowicz was also selected by the course instructors as an Honor Graduate. This selection was based upon his overall marksmanship, written test scores, personal initiative and teamwork throughout the training program. This honor not only reflects positively on Sgt. Knutowicz as an individual, but also as a member of the Department of Public Safety and Monroe Community College as a whole.
