Michael Alleman Poetry Reading


Born in south Louisiana, Michael Alleman attended college in his hometown of Lake Charles where he studied with John Wood and Robert Olen Butler. After receiving the M.A. in English and M.F.A. in Creative Writing, he worked as a painter and one-time ranch-hand in Colorado before attending the University of Texas-Dallas where he is current ABD. His new play about Ezra Pound, The Dark Nut of the Soul, was performed as part of the 2002 UTD Pound Symposium. His honors include the Edgar Z. Bennet Poetry Award from the 1993 Deep South Writers Conference.
