McDonough Named President of Raritan Valley Community College

Please join me in congratulating Provost Mike McDonough who has been named the eighth president of Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg, New Jersey.

Mike leaves us after three years as provost and four years as dean of liberal arts. His contributions to MCC are immeasurable. His vision, enthusiasm, innovation and cheerleading for faculty will be missed.

In announcing the appointment last evening, Dr. Paul Hirsch, chairman of the RVCC’s board of trustees said “Dr. McDonough is a dynamic, creative leader who has extensive experience in dealing with the challenges and opportunities facing community colleges. He brings to this position an impressive record of success in developing innovative academic programs, supporting faculty development, advancing student retention and success, securing grant funding and forming community partnerships. We welcome Dr. McDonough and look forward to working together to build on the college’s successes and lay the foundation for future growth and greater opportunities for our students and the communities we serve.”

Mike will begin his tenure at RVCC on June 2. Conversations regarding filling the MCC provost’s position will occur over the coming weeks.

The remainder of this term will offer opportunities to appreciate Mike’s contributions to MCC and celebrate his accomplishment. Please join me in wishing him the very best at Raritan Valley.
