Under the coordination of Kathleen Farrell, Mercer Gallery Director, and Cathryn Smith, Assistant Professor, English/Philosophy Department, the following MCC students received National Certificates of Merit for their entries in the 2013-14 League for Innovation in the Community College’s Student Art and Literary Competitions. These competitions included 90 artworks and 55 literary works submitted by students from across the League’s 18 Board colleges.
Student Art Competition: Emily Baker for “Vacant Motel”; Emma Nardi for “A Study of Faces”; Jasmine Delong for “Words Hurt”; Kerina Mangiaracina for “Crazy”; and Kylie Newcomer for “Remember Level 5.”
Student Literary Competition: Jillian Chafik for “Parallel”; Maria Kane for “Morning Delivery”; Samantha Swan for “City of Sinai”; and Jason Whelehan for “Meandering.”
