Upward Bound has pulled two new talented staff in to better serve seniors and alumni in the program. Mike Johnson, a 2013 graduate from the University of Rochester and a 2003 Upward Bound alumnus, and Heather Storti, a third term AmeriCorps member, have joined the team in stride. The two have taken on a crucial workload, connecting with Upward Bound alumni, aiding seniors in college application work, editing student resumes, and more. Even when students aren’t in school, they’re hard at work, offering a Senior Day during the Holiday Break to help seniors complete college admissions materials and SAT preparation. Mike notes “I’m enjoying my job so far, and I’m looking forward to getting to know each student better.” We’re glad to have them on the team!
