Dr. Dianna Phillips Participates in Panel Discussion, Presentation


Dianna G. Phillips, Dean of Technical Education,  served on two separate panel discussions last week regarding regional economic development.  On Thursday, January 24th, Assemblyman David Koon and Assemblywomen Joan Christenson (Onondaga) hosted a panel discussion in the Warshof Conference Center to discuss the ‘green economy’ and its possible impact on our region.  As a panelist, Dr. Phillips represented the educational community and spoke about MCC’s involvement with sustainability projects around campus, including topics in Construction Technology, HVAC, and a new embedded sustainability certificate. 

On Friday, January 25th, Dr. Phillips was in Geneva presenting information to the Finger Lakes Advanced Manufacturing Enterprise (FAME); reporting on MCC’s contribution to the advanced manufacturing industry in our region.  Additional panelists included Dr. Barbara Risser, President of FLCC, Mr. Austin Cheney, Dean of the School of Management and Engineering Technology at Alfred State College, Mr. Joe Galente, Director of Technical/Career/Continued Education at Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES, and Mr.John Burgess, Technology Teacher from Pal-Mac High School.
