The Senate is forming two ad hoc committees and is looking for people interested in serving on either of the committees. One very short term committee will look at the Academic Bill of Rights (a bill of rights for students that some people believe may conflict with the current AAUP agreement to which the college adheres) being discussed in SUNY and recommend feedback that the Senate could give to Louis Silvers, our Faculty Council of Community Colleges (FCCC) representative to share with the FCCC. This committee would probably meet only a couple of times in the near future before providing feedback to the Executive Committee.
A second committee needed will be a longer term committee charged to look at possible ways to help the College community and its newer employees get to know each other better. One area examined would be the feasibility of creating a system to provide pictures of employees in a place that could be restricted, if desirable, to access by the College community.
