MCC Board of Trustees Meeting News


The MCC Board of Trustees held its meeting in the Warshof Conference Center, R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center, Monroe B on the Brighton Campus on Monday, October 3 and took the following actions:

1.            Accepted the Interim Financial Reports as of July 31, 2016.

2.            Authorized the purchase of items over $20,000 as listed for the month of July 2016.

3.            Authorized the transfer of funds totaling $270,087.

4.            Approved the assessment of out-of-state students an annual capital revenue fee of up to $300 for full-time students and pro-rated for part-time students at a maximum of $10 per credit hour, effective with the spring 2017 semester. The capital revenue fee shall only be used for capital improvements.  Consistent with SUNY Board of Trustees approval to amend Title 8 Sections 602.10(c) and 602.12(a), of the Official Compilation of Codes, Rules, and Regulations of the State of New York at their June 22, 2016 meeting.

5.            Approved the appointment of Susan Belair as the Chair of the Anthropology/History/Political Science/Sociology Department for the 2016-2017 Academic Year, replacing Natasha Christensen; Ms. Belair will receive an annual stipend in accordance with the provisions of the current agreement with the Faculty Association.

6.            Approved the appointment of Amy Ariola as Associate Chief Information Officer, Computer & Information Technology Services effective August 22, 2016 through August 31, 2017 at an annual salary of $98,000.

7. Approved the appointment of Christine Casalinouvo-Adams as the Interim Associate Vice President, Enrollment Management effective October 1, 2016 through August 31, 2017 or until the position is filled on a permanent basis, whichever is earlier. Ms. Casalinouvo-Adams will receive a monthly stipend of $1,250 for each month that she serves in this role.

8.            Adopted the amendments to Article IV of the Faculty Senate Bylaws, effective upon approval of the Board of Trustees.

9.            Conducted an Executive Session pursuant to Public Officers Law §105, subsection (f): the medical, financial, credit or employment history of a particular person or corporation, or matters leading to the appointment, employment, promotion, demotion, discipline, suspension, dismissal or removal of a particular person or corporation.

The Board heard presentations from The Bonadio & Co. on the College’s annual audit; President Anne Kress and Director of Development, MCC Foundation Mark Pastorella on Save for Success; and Mark Pastorella on the Foundation activities.
