MCC Partners with  Le Moyne College to Offer Dual-Admission Opportunities

High school students interested in earning a bachelor’s degree in business or information systems from the Madden School of Business at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, now have the option of taking classes at MCC for the first two years. This is the first such agreement for Le Moyne with an institution in the Rochester market.

“This unique, dual-admission opportunity puts local high school students on the path to transferring to Le Moyne with full junior status and earning a bachelor’s degree,” said G. Christopher Belle-Isle, director of MCC’s Career and Transfer Center. “Students enrolled in the program are considered Le Moyne students who choose to spend their first two years at MCC. We are pleased to offer this valuable option to students in partnership with Le Moyne College.”

“We are excited about the launch of this new partnership with Monroe Community College,” said John Dolan, vice president for enrollment management at Le Moyne. “Students who enroll in this program will be able to begin their academic career at MCC, seamlessly transfer to Le Moyne, and graduate with a bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne in four years.”

Students who earn an associate degree in business administration or computer information systems, complete a prescribed sequence of courses at MCC and transfer 60 or more credit hours are guaranteed full junior standing within one of the following programs at Le Moyne College:

•               accounting;
•               business analytics;
•               finance;
•               information systems;
•               management and leadership;
•               marketing.

The Madden School of Business at Le Moyne is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, a distinction bestowed on approximately 5 percent of business schools worldwide. In fall 2013, the Madden School will open in a newly renovated facility that features a state-of-the-art trading room, a financial education center and an analytics and marketing research lab.

One of 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States, Le Moyne College is a private, four-year institution enrolling approximately 2,300 full-time undergraduate students in programs of liberal arts, science business and pre-professional studies, and 800 full- and part-time students in graduate programs in nursing, education, business administration and physician assistant studies.
