News from the MCC Board of Trustees Meeting


The MCC Board of Trustees held its meeting in the Board Room, Spina Administration Building on the Brighton Campus on Monday, April 13 and took the following actions:

1.  Accepted the Interim Financial Reports as of February 28, 2015.
2.  Authorized Howard Konar, chair of the Finance and Facilities Committee and John Bartolotta, chair of the Board of Trustees, to approve budget transfers on behalf of the Board of Trustees through the end of the budget year, August 31, 2015.

3.  Adopted the “Assembly, Picketing, and Demonstration Policy” effective April 13, 2015.  See attached.

4. Approved the appointment of Dr. Joel Frater as executive dean, Damon City Campus, effective July 8, 2015.

5. Approved the appointment of department chairs for the Academic Year 2015-16, each to receive an annual stipend in accordance with provisions of the current agreement with the Faculty Association.

6. Adjusted 2015/2016 base annual salaries in accordance with Article 47 of the current contractual agreement with the Faculty Association for seven members, effective September 1, 2015.

7. Approved a leave of absence in accordance with Article 18, Other Leaves of Absence, of the contractual agreement between Monroe Community College and the Faculty Association for the period of one year (September 1, 2015 – August 31, 2016) for Susan P. Thompson, associate professor, psychology.

8. Congratulated the Monroe Community College Tribunes men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams and Head Coach Daniel Dubois on their accomplishments during the 2015 season, honored the team and the coach for their commitment to the sports of swimming and diving and to their college, and extended sincere best wishes for their continued success both in and out of the pool.

9. Conducted an executive session pursuant to Public Officers Law§105, subsection (h): the proposed acquisition, sale or lease of real property or the proposed acquisition of securities held by such public body, but only when publicity would substantially affect the value thereof.

The Board heard presentations from Dan Burns, chair, MCC Foundation Board of Directors on foundation initiatives and Dr. Anne M. Kress, president, on direction two of the strategic plan, Workforce Education and Career Pathways.
