Save the Date - Alice H. Young, Ed.D. Diversity Series

Please hold November 15 and 16 on your calendar.  On those dates, the Diversity Council will bring Gary Howard, an educator with 35 years of experience in diversity leadership and training to MCC.  This will be the 3rd annual presentation of the Alice H. Young, Ed.D. Diversity Series.

Mr. Howard has provided extensive training in cultural awareness to schools, universities, social service agencies, and businesses throughout the United States and Australia.  Mr. Howard is the author of numerous articles on race, justice, and multicultural issues and has developed collections of curriculum materials that are being used internationally.  His most recent book, We Can’t Teach What We Don’t Know (Second Edition, 2006), was published by Columbia University and is considered a groundbreaking work examining issues of privilege, power and the role of White leaders and educators in a multicultural society.

On Thursday, November 15, Mr. Howard will deliver a keynote address at Damon and on Friday, November 16 he will repeat his presentation at Brighton.  In addition, he will be training audiences in smaller sessions on both campuses.

Watch for details!
