Please Re-certify WR Courses for Summer and Fall 2019

Attention all WR-certified faculty: This is a friendly reminder that any voluntary Writing Intensive (WR) course you will be teaching for the summer and/or fall 2019 semester should be re-certified as soon you know your schedule. Doing so ensures that students know which WR courses are available on the master schedule once registration opens. Priority registration for fall begins March 11.

Our handy online tool allows you to submit a re-certification request directly to R&R for the course(s) you have already been certified to teach as WR. This expedites things quite a bit.

The tool is located in both the old and the new myMCC. If you are still using the old myMCC, it's in the Faculty Tools area of the Faculty tab, and is labeled "Re-certify Your Writing Intensive Course(s)."

In the new MyMCC, go to Employees > Faculty Essentials > Faculty Tools. "Re-certify Your Writing Intensive Course(s)" is at the bottom of that list.

Click here for a direct link [you must be logged into the new MyMCC for the link to work]:

Instructions:

  1. Select the academic term for which you are re-certifying [i.e. Fall 2019]
  2. Type the CRN for the class, then choose "Section Lookup"
  3. Follow the rest of the on-screen instructions
  4. Repeat the process for any other courses that need re-certification

And voila! You will receive a confirmation email for each re-certification that you submit.

Important: This tool is for re-certifications only. You can only re-certify courses that you have already been certified to teach as WR. If you would like to become certified for a different course, please submit an Application for a New WR Course on the WAC website.

Questions? Problems using the re-cert tool? Please let me know: aburtner@monroecc.edu

Thanks for your prompt attention, and thank you for offering your course(s) as WR!
