WAC Outstanding Faculty Award

The Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) committee is pleased to announce that Jason Anderson, Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Geosciences, is the recipient of the 2015-2016 Outstanding WAC Faculty Award. This award recognizes faculty members who make a strong commitment to fostering student writing skills through courses designated as Writing Intensive (WR). Jason has been involved in Writing Across the Curriculum since his arrival at MCC, both as an instructor of Organic Chemistry (WR) and as a member of the WAC steering committee (2010-2015). While serving on the committee Jason took an active role in promoting writing across the curriculum by participating in numerous student workshops. In his Organic Chemistry course Jason has enhanced the student writing experience by adapting the laboratory component of the course to an inquiry driven design.  Once again, we are pleased to recognize Jason’s dedication and hard work in promoting writing intensive courses to the college community.  A more in-depth profile of Jason’s accomplishments will be included in the upcoming WAC Notes.
