Careers in Film Panel a Success

Last week the Creative Arts Committee sponsored a panel discussion called “Navigating Careers in Film” which was a great success!  Five professionals in the local film industry sat on the panel and offered advice to students interested in getting into a film related profession. Following the panel discussion there was a Q & A and a networking session where students could mingle with and make connections with the panelists.

Michelle Macirella, who works in the Campus Center, put together the panel and coordinated the event.  In addition to working in the Campus Center, Michelle has helped manage the High Falls Film Festival for the past five years and has worked previously in film and television production for several years in New York City.

Members of the MCC Cinema Society and Professor Barry Goldfarb from the VAPA department also assisted with the event.  Approximately 50 students (several of which are enrolled in MCC’s new Cinema and Screen Studies A.S. program) along with several members of the Rochester and MCC community were in attendance.

Below is a photo from the evening.
