Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month


Following are events currently scheduled in honor of October, Hispanic Heritage Month!

1. HOLLYWOOD EXPOSED!
Presented by Alma Martinez
Monday, October 7, 2002, 12 Noon (College Hour), MCC Theater Bldg. 4
· The truth about how Hollywood perpetuates racism and ethnic
stereotypes.
· An insightful and humorous journey through the Hollywood image factory
that will forever change how you view films and television.

This program is brought to you in part by student life fees,
the Campus Activity Board, and the Communications Department.


2. Experience traditional Latino dancing with Latin, African, and
Brazilian Dance Company, BATA CON PIES.
Monday Oct 14th, College Hour (12:00 pm), Building 10 in the Dance Studio
· All dance levels welcome
· No dance experience necessary

3. Movida Dance Company: Salsa Dance Workshop at MCC
Monday, October 21st, College Hour (12:00 pm), Building 10 in the Dance Studio
· All dance levels welcome, so if you are a beginner or a pro, this workshop is for you!
· All MCC Students, Faculty, and Staff are encouraged to attend.

4. Master Drummer Ramon "Sunshine" Perez
Of Rochester's own Latin, African, and Brazilian Drumming & Dance Company
"BATA CON PIES" will be teaching a drumming workshop here at MCC.
Free, Monday Oct 23rd, College Hour (12:00 pm), Building 10 in the Theater
He will be teaching the basics of traditional African-Caribbean drumming.
No prior musical experience needed to participate.
