Changes to United States Postal Service Delivery Standards

Effective January 2015, the United States Postal Service revised the delivery standards for local First Class Mail.  For MCC, this means outgoing First Class Mail addressed to the 144, 145 and 146 ZIP Code areas will no longer receive overnight or next business day delivery service.  According to the new delivery standards First Class Mail will be delivered on the second or third postal business day.  For example, outgoing mail addressed locally and processed by Mail Services on Wednesday will no longer be delivered on Thursday, but will be delivered on Friday or Saturday.

The Postal Service believes this national change in its delivery standards will reduce costs throughout its entire processing and delivery network.
