DCC's Election Project and The Sociology Film Series 2004-5 present "Good Citizens, Good Consumers?" This event will feature the video "Killing Us Softly 3" by Jean Kilbourne (2000) with discussion to follow, focusing on how, in the U.S., advertising teaches us to become good consumers, rather than good citizens. All are invited to view this important 35-minute video and then discuss its sociological, cultural and political relevance.
