Passing of Estelle Touati, Professor Emeritus


I am deeply saddened to report the passing of Estelle Touati, MCC professor emeritus on July 27th in Paris, France. A member of MCC's Foreign Languages Department from 1963 until her retirement in 1988, Estelle was instrumental in helping to create and build the Foreign Languages Department. Known for her creative teaching, her dedication to students and her knowledge of French literature as well as classic Latin and Greek, she played an integral role in the development of the College during its earliest years.

Estelle held a license of letters from the University of Algiers, a diploma of higher studies from the University of Paris and a certificate of classical letters from the University of Grenoble.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Wednesday, October 17th in the Ben Goldstein Chapel located through the south entrance of Temple B'rith Kodesh, 2131 Elmwood Avenue.
