Network Systems Upgrade, College Closure Planned for February 18 through 21

In order to improve service to our students and community, Monroe Community College will perform an essential network systems upgrade in February. MCC will be closed* to employees, students and the general public from Saturday, February 18 at 5:00 p.m. through Tuesday, February 21. The college will officially reopen on Wednesday, February 22 at 5:30 a.m. This closure coincides with winter recess.

MCC employees who work at the Brighton Campus, Damon City Campus, Applied Technologies Center and the Public Safety Training Facility are not to report to the workplace during the upgrade as access to basic services, including ANGEL, online courses, Banner, Internet, myVPN, phone, email, system servers (e.g., M: Drive, library resources) and environmental controls (heating) will be affected. Full-time employees will be compensated for this time off as if they were working (i.e., full-time employees are not required to take vacation or personal time during the closure).

Normal college operations will resume on Wednesday, February 22 at 5:30 a.m. Employees are asked to report to work and/or resume regular work activity on that day.

Your cooperation is appreciated in order to ensure this important work is completed. Please consult with your supervisor regarding department-specific instructions. You are welcome to share this information with your colleagues, students and external partners.

* The Alice Holloway Young Commons and Richard M. Guon Child Care Center will be open during the upgrade to serve students and families. College systems will be operating on a very limited basis. The Stabins Physical Education Complex and PAC Center will be partially open for previously scheduled athletic events only. Appropriate plans have been put in place to facilitate these operations. The Public Safety Training Facility will be open for city and county employees; MCC employees should not report.
