CSTEP Students Selected to Present at a National Conference

Three CSTEP students, Aaron Johnson, Derik Grant, and Christina Kennedy have been selected to present their summer research projects at the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) in Anaheim, California.

Aaron’s project abstract: “Identifying Associations among Neurological Diseases Using Bioinformatics Tools."

Derik’s project abstract: "Production of VSV Expression Plasmids to Identify The Viral Component Responsible For IFN Gene Regulation."

Christina’s project abstract: “Nitrogen Concentrations, pH, and Conductivities in Local Creeks Draining Three Urban Watersheds”

Aaron and Derik are also participants in the Rochester Biomedical Experience program and conducted their research this past summer at RIT.  Christina conducted her research this past summer at Binghamton University.

ABRCMS is the largest, professional conference for biomedical students.  It is a three day conference designed to encourage underrepresented minority students to pursue advanced training in the biomedical and behavioral sciences.
