Presenting the 2012 MCC National Model United Nations Program

MCC faculty, and staff, we once again are pleased to present the 2012 Model United Nations Program.  This award winning program has consistently been one of the hallmark programs that highlights Monroe Community College as being one of the best colleges in the United States to date with innovative approaches to student success.  As a premier college we have balanced the perfect blend of curricular and co-curricular learning that give students a true learning experience.  The Model United Nations Program is one of those perfect blends.

Faculty and staff please take a minute to think of students you personally believe would benefit from this program. Students who stand out in your class with leadership potential, cultural awareness and display an interest in world events are the kind of students we are looking for.

Model UN is

·      Writing intensive and researched based
·      Students earn 4 credit hours (satisfying a Political Science, Social Science or General Elective credit)
·      Students will gain “Honors Credit” after completing the program, but they don’t necessarily have to be an honors student
·      Students will actually attend the largest international collegiate conference in the North East with over 4,000 students from all over the world
·       Students will stay in New York City in April for one week and attend the real United Nations to debate and negotiate real world issues.
