On Friday, May 13, MCC's Rock ’n Roll Revue will dig deep into this genre of American popular music through a variety of student performances.
It's not a little bit country. It's entirely rock 'n roll. From Elvis and Jail House Rock to Janis Joplin’s Piece of My Heart, musical selections will reflect a broad span of music that emerged in the 1950s and continues to evolve today. Selections will include: Aretha Franklin’s Respect, River Deep, Mountain High, originally performed by Tina Turner and Paul Simon’s Loves Me Like a Rock. The evening will also feature girl groups, Doo Wop and Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody performed by MCC’s vocal jazz/show choir, Noon Flyte.
The Rock ‘n Roll Revue will be held at 7:30 in MCC’s Brighton Campus Theater, Bldg. 4.
Admission is free and open to the public.
