Dr. Emeterio M. Otero, Executive Dean of the Damon City Campus, was honored as the community recipient of the 2012 Jennifer Koon Courage award, given to ” individuals who are committed to peacemaking and who strive to make the world a better and more peaceful place” by the St. John Fisher College Peace and Social Justice Studies Program. The Jennifer Koon Peacemaking Fund was established in memory of Jennifer Koon by her parents. During her brief life, she exemplified the characteristics that they honor every year with this award named in her memory. Dr. Otero’s award was presented during St. John Fisher’s annual “Road Less Traveled: Celebrating Lives of Peace, Service, and Social Activism” dinner and awards ceremony on Thursday, March 22.
