MCC highlighted in the AAC&U new Teaching, Learning, and Assessment (TLA) Framework

I am pleased to announce that MCC is highlighted in the American Association of Colleges and Universities’ new Teaching, Learning, and Assessment (TLA) Framework. The (TLA) Framework is a web-based tool that will support colleges in their efforts to ensure students are learning, which is a fundamental principle of the fourth pillar of the guided pathways model.

In the conceptualize phase of the TLA Framework, AAC&U features our Teaching and Creativity Center’s (TCC) work on developing equity-mindedness and race-consciousness, as well as video testimonials from MCC students on the challenges they faced on campus in the context of diversity, equity, and inclusion from a 2019 Essential Discussion. It also highlights our participation in AAC&U’s Ensuring Students are Learning grant project.

For the formalize phase of the framework, AAC&U highlights the ways in which MCC developed a collaborative, cross-divisional action plan to “enforce project efforts and build capacity” for the Ensuring Students are Learning grant.

This national recognition was made possible by the work of dedicated members of the faculty, staff, and administration wholly committee to student success. Consequently, we thank the following teams for their achievements:

Teaching and Creativity Center (under the leadership of Gena Merliss)

High-Impact Practices Committee (under the leadership of Maria Brandt and Jim Cronmiller)

AAC&U Pathways Grant Team (under the leadership of Kimberley Collins and Michael Jacobs)
