Community Fridays for a Cause

The next “Community Fridays for a Cause” is tomorrow, Friday, April 4th.

Camp Good Days and Special Times will be the recipient of donations raised through the “Community Fridays for a Cause” program.

Camp Good Days and Special Times, Inc. was founded over 30 years ago by Gary Mervis to provide a residential camping program for his daughter, Teddi Mervis, and 62 other children with cancer from Upstate New York, and has grown to become one of the largest organizations of its kind in the world.

This past summer, over 1500 children, including children with cancer from several foreign countries, participated and experienced the magic of Camp Good Days firsthand at the beautiful Recreational Facility, located on the shores of Keuka Lake.

Camp Good Days and Special Times provides programs and services for children, adults and families, whose lives have been touched by cancer and other life threatening challenges through residential camping programs and year-round recreational and support activities. All of the programs and services, provided by Camp Good Days, are offered free of charge for the participants. The continued success of Camp Good Days and Special Times is dependent on their many successful fundraising events and the generous donations from individuals and organizations in our community.

Cancer is an enemy that touches all of us, whether directly or indirectly and an enemy that this year will kill 600,000 of our mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters and in far too many cases, our children. Please be generous in your support of Camp Good Days and Special Times and the opportunities being offered to children with cancer and their families, through this unique camping experience and the many other programs available through this compassionate organization.

Wear school colors on Friday and show support for our MCC family and our efforts to support Camp Good Days and Special Times.

Donations will be collected in each department.  All checks should be made out to Camp Good Days and Special Times.  Donation envelopes have been returned to your departments to be used again on April 4th.  Please bring donation envelopes to Jodee Biller in the Controller’s Office no later than 4:00 pm on Friday, April 4th.
