Changes in Parking Services

If you happen to stop by the Parking Services office (1-102) after the New Year begins, you may notice a couple of the most familiar faces in that office are missing. Denise Calarco, Program Director, and Carolynn VanHorn, Frontier Field Technical Assistant, will both be leaving Monroe Community College in the next few weeks.

Denise began her career at MCC in 2000 at the Help Desk, moved over to Public Safety as a Clerk III in 2001, and climbed the career ladder to Parking Services Program Director in 2015. Denise participated in several large parking projects, including the implementation of license plate reader technology to assist with parking enforcement and the launching of the Downtown Campus/Frontier Field initiative.

Carolynn began part-time work at MCC in 2013 as a Customer Service Assistant, eventually achieving full-time status. Carolynn was promoted to Technical Assistant in 2017 when she took on a supervisory role in the Downtown Campus/Frontier Field initiative, overseeing dozens of employees and countless hours of preparation.

Whether it is an exciting, new job opportunity or relocation to a much warmer climate, Denise and Carolynn will be missed. A retirement celebration will be held for Denise in the Parking Services Office on January 2, 2020, between 11:00 am and 2:30 pm. Please feel free to stop by and congratulate Denise on an efficacious career in parking! Carolynn will only be around on December 12th, so stop by if you can and say goodbye to her as well!

If needed, all Parking Services related questions can be referred to the Parking Services Office at parkingrequests@monroecc.edu or (585)292-2700. Thank you.
