Join the U.N. Interfaith Harmony Week Faith Fair 2/2/15

Learn! Ask! Interact!

In celebration of the United Nations Interfaith Harmony Week <
https://worldinterfaithharmonyweek.com/> , MCC will host a world religions Faith Fair on Monday, February 2nd from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Flynn Campus Center Atrium.  “World Interfaith Harmony Week was proclaimed by the General Assembly on 20 October 2010.  In the resolution, the General Assembly points out that mutual understanding and interreligious dialogue constitute important dimensions of a culture of peace and establishes World Interfaith Harmony Week as a way to promote harmony between all people regardless of their faith.” (https://www.un.org/en/events/interfaithharmonyweek/)

Our Faith Fair will consist of local institutions of faith as well as student religious clubs.  Our goal is educational: we want to introduce students to members of local faith communities, present them with basic tenets of the religions, and offer them information on the types of services that are available for them to attend if they so choose.  By doing so, we hope to expose our students to the wealth of diverse world religions right here in our own community.

And please check out the attached MCC resource list on interfaith harmony, religious multiculturalism, and overviews of world religions, compiled by Deb Mohr, Database Control Librarian.
