Allied Health Professions Week Events Planned

The nation will celebrate Allied Health Professions Week Nov. 3-9, 2002. Allied health professions includes educators, administrators and accreditors that work alongside doctors, nurses and practitioners. This event promotes collaboration among all allied health professionals and builds public awareness of their crucial role in healthcare.

MCC is proud to offer a variety of allied health programs, including dental studies, radiologic technology, massage therapy and health information management.

According to the National Network of Health Careers Programs in Two-Year Colleges, there are over five million U.S. workers practicing in more than 80 different allied health professions in the medical arena today.

On Thursday, Nov. 7, Monroe Community College's Department of Health Professions will host department information tables on the second floor corridor of Building 7. Representatives will be on hand for students seeking information regarding MCC's dental studies, radiologic technology, massage therapy and health information management programs.

Dental hygiene students will present table clinics on dental related subjects throughout the day. The table clinics will also be featured at the New York State Dental Hygiene Association meeting Nov. 8-10. Please contact Susan Forsyth, chairperson, Health Professions, for more information at x2762.
