Holidays Right For Job Search

Many job hunters put their resumes on hold during the holidays because they believe companies don't hire this time of year.
Monroe Community College, Rochester Works! and the local networking group, the August Group, tried to break that misconception.
They hosted one of the only local December job fairs Wednesday at MCC.
More than 35 health care agencies, local universities and high tech firms sent representatives to recruit.
"Although it can be hit and miss with people on vacations as far as human resource managers, December historically has been a good month to start to build a pool of potential employees," Sandra Turner of Rochester Works! said.
"I think there are a lot of opportunities. You just have to make those opportunities come alive, and you have to sell yourself," job hunter Ed Sullivan of Fairport said.
