Workforce Development Builds Space at Applied Technologies

A new storage facility at the Applied Technologies Center on West Henrietta Road will create space for 20 Learn2Ride motorcycles.

The motorcycles had been housed in a meeting room where the Learn2Ride motorcycle course is taught. The new 16-foot by 32-foot modular unit was installed in early August and will be sided by the end of this month. The $6,800 facility was paid with revenues from the program, which trains an average of 400 motorcyclists a year.

Students use the motorcycles as part of their class training. About 2,500 people have been taught at MCC how to properly ride a motorcycle during the program’s eight years. Classes with 21 hours of training run April through September.
