RMSC Science Demo Contest


Calvin Uzelmeier of the Rochester Museum & Science Center sent out the following announcement:

The Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) is inviting K-12 teachers, college faculty, and students (graduate and undergraduate) to submit videos of spectacular educational science demonstrations.  Three submissions will be chosen to be performed at the RMSC's 100th Anniversary Gala, "The Big Bang: The Ball That Starts it All" on the evening of September 29, 2012.

Sponsored by Complemar Partners, Inc, three winning demonstrations will be selected with cash awards of $1,000 to each winning submission in the following categories: 

- Best student (graduate or undergraduate) submission

- Best university/college faculty submission

- Best K-12 teacher submission

An additional "Best of Show" award of $1,000 will be given out at the evening event on September 29, 2012.

Videos of submitted demonstrations that teach some aspect of science and/or technology (chemistry, physics, earth sciences, biological sciences, engineering, etc...) will be posted to the RMSC's YouTube page for community voting, with a submission deadline of August 19, 2012.
