The Diversity Council is pleased to announce that seven strategic committees are being formed in March to utilize the College’s strategic planning model to achieve the College’s vision for diversity and inclusiveness. As Chief Diversity Officer Diane Cecero recently stated, “Embracing diversity is everyone’s responsibility.”
We invite faculty, staff and administrators to join the Council’s efforts to move diversity and inclusiveness to another level of excellence.
The Diversity Council Committees adopted from the 2007-2011 Strategic Plan are as follows.
Promoting Excellence in Teaching and Learning
Enriching and Broadening the Student Experience
Responding to Community, Workforce Needs and Enrollment
Building upon Human Capital
Enhancing our Physical Environment
Responding to Fiscal Challenges
Enhancing the Learning Environment through Technology
We have attached for your review a list of the seven Strategic Directions along with committee descriptions and Council members chairing the committees. We also have attached a repeat of the 2003-2006 Diversity Council report you may have been unable to open in Diane Cecero’s Daily Tribune announcement last week due to a computer glitch.
The seven committee chairs will announce a call for volunteers to sign up over the next 7 business days. Please review the summary document to help you decide your committee of choice. The committees will convene for a celebratory kickoff, Friday, March 30th College Hour in the Forum at Brighton Campus.
We are striving toward a mindful and inclusive community. Join us!
