Students Host "Idols at MCC"

The MCC Student Government Association will host "Idols at MCC," a contest for performers based on the FOX network's "American Idol" television program, beginning on Monday, March 31 at noon in the MCC Brick Lounge located on the first floor of Building 1 on the Brighton Campus.

"There are a lot of talented students at MCC," said Andy Sharp, student senator and member of the MCC Student Government Association. "We're hoping that, by offering scholarships, MCC students will be motivated to audition and cheer on other students."

Performer applications are available at the MCC Student Government Office and at the Student Service Desk on the first floor of Building 3 on the Brighton Campus. Applications must be received by March 31, 2003. Auditions are open to current MCC students only.

In addition to the March 31 performance, first-round auditions are also scheduled for April 23; second round auditions will be held on April 2 and April 30. MCC scholarships will be awarded to first ($250) and second ($100) place contestants in May.

All performances are free and open to the public. Parking will be available in Lot D. For more information call Andy Sharp or Kia Brooks at 585.292.2546.
