MCC Continues to Impact Local Nursing Shortage

During 2006, 96 percent of MCC nursing program graduates (148 alumni) passed the NCLEX-RN and received their licenses. In fact, MCC continues to graduate significantly more nurses for our community than all other colleges in Greater Rochester.

MCC’s pass rates on the licensing exam also continue to outperform state and national averages regardless of degree (i.e., associates, bachelors, special programs, diplomas).

* Local Colleges: 92.3 percent (all degree types)

* New York  85.72 percent

* National  88.11 percent

* MCC  96.1 percent

Refer to the MCC Daily Tribune for updates on the Louis S. and Molly B. Wolk Center for Excellence in Nursing—a new educational complex made possible by a $2 million gift from the Wolk Foundation to the Monroe Community College Foundation. Plans are in the works to break ground for the new facility later this spring.
