News from the MCC Board of Trustees Meeting

The MCC Board of Trustees held its meeting in the R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center, Warshof Conference Center on the Brighton Campus on Monday, December 3, 2018 and took the following actions:

  1. Accepted the Interim Financial Reports as of August 31, September 30 and October 31, 2018.
  2. Authorized the purchase of items over $20,000 as listed for the months of August, September and October, 2018.
  3. Approved the Annual Financial Report to SUNY for the fiscal year ended August 31, 2018.
  4. Authorized the transfer of funds totaling $173,957.
  5. Adopted the Faculty Teaching Credentials Policy effective December 3, 2018. (The policy will be included on the Board of Trustees policy web page.)
  6. Approved the following A.A.S. degree subject to the approval by the State University of New York: Multi-Manufacturer Automotive Program, A.A.S.
  7. Approved the phased-in retirement in accordance with Article 27 Section E of the contractual agreement between Monroe Community College and the Faculty Association for Marcia Fugate, ESOL/Transitional Studies, on December 31, 2021.
  8. Conducted an Executive Session pursuant to Public Officers Law §105, subsection (e): collective negotiations pursuant to Article 14 of the Civil Service Law and (f): the medical, financial, credit or employment history of a particular person or corporation, or matters leading to the appointment, employment, promotion, demotion, discipline, suspension, dismissal or removal of a particular person or corporation.
  9. Approved the MCC Foundation's recommendation that the Communications/Theatre Building on the Brighton Campus (Building 4) be known as the Robin and Tim Wentworth Arts Building as of December 3, 2018.
  10. Approved a resolution affirming the Board's support of and confidence in President Anne M. Kress and her leadership team.

The Board heard presentations from

  • Cross-Cultural Counselor, Global Education & International Services Donald Beech and Student Erik Olsson on Model United Nations Program;
  • Vice President, Student Services Lloyd Holmes on Strategic Plan Direction Two: Student Success;
  • President Anne Kress on college activities;
  • Shared Governance groups (Amanda Colosimo for Faculty Senate; Erick Gordon for Student Government Association; and Stephanie Guilin for Student Events and Governance Association); and
  • Chair of the MCC Foundation Board of Directors Lauren Dixon on Foundation activities.

The Board acknowledged the work of student Jamie Reinhold whose artwork was selected for the College's 2018 holiday card.
