Introducing The Women of Excellence Initiative

ATTENTION

Latina American, Asian American, African American and Native American women:

Introducing the WOMEN OF EXCELLENCE INITIATIVE

While college is a time of transition for all students, the challenge is tougher for students of color, particularly those from low-income families and those who are their families’ first to go to college.

The Women of Excellence Initiative focuses on women who are historically unrepresented.  The initiative focuses on opportunities for engagement that facilitate a sense of belonging, persistence to graduation, and readiness for life after college. By participating in this group, students will be able to explore their identity as women, appreciate their strengths and weaknesses, personal values, cultural appreciation, and find a community personal and cultural competencies (self-confidence, empowerment, communication) and most of all the since of communicating beyond differences.

Another huge opportunity for students will be an opportunity to quality for scholarship funds that can help financially.

Faculty and staff, please encourage any students you may know to come to one of our informational sessions.

Want to know more.  Please attend our next open “Informational Session” on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 2ND AT 4:00PM AND FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 4TH AT 12:00PM in the PRISM Multicultural Center, Building 1-108.
