The MCC softball team will begin its quest for a second consecutive national title today at the NJCAA Division III national tournament in Rochester, Minn.
The Tribunes enter the tournament with a record of 48-2, easily topping the school record for victories in a season (38, set last year). MCC has won 31 consecutive games.
Monroe will open the tournament today, taking on Columbus State CC out of Columbus, Ohio at 12 p.m. The winner of that game will play either College of DuPage or Ridgewater College at 4 p.m. Thursday.
